I have been so lucky to shoot in some fabulous venues this wedding season, and Elaine and Ian's choice of Blythswood Square was no exception! The 5 star luxury hotel provided a stunning backdrop to their Autumn wedding. I loved how Elaine had chosen her flowers and bridesmaids dress colours to fit in with the hotel colour scheme - slate and purple - soft and very feminine colours. I joined Elaine and her best friend Angela in their suite in the morning (and "My best friend's wedding" came on the TV in the background - couldn't have been more appropriate!). I was so fortunate to have my good friend Les Johnstone second shooting for me, as he covered the groom preparations - and I was able to stay with Elaine right up till the ceremony. And walk down that famous staircase with the biggest crystal chandelier I have ever seen.
The Monte Carlo Suite, where both the ceremony and later, their wedding breakfast was held, certainly had the wow factor. I remember walking into the room to take a few detail shots, and literally catching my breath. I don't see a layout with just one long table very often (and it's often just not practical) but it does make an impact!
The evening was kicked off with Ian and Elaine's first dance, and a full dancefloor. Just as it should be.
Elaine and Ian - I hope you had a fantastic honeymoon in Las Vegas and Hawaii! It was an absolute joy to photograph your wedding. I hope you enjoy your preview of photos!
