This was not the first time I had Johanna & Jan in front of my camera, as I already photographed their engagement session and their registry office wedding in 2016 (which I will share another day ;) - but this time, it was for their church wedding.
My day started at Johanna and Jan's beautiful home, where Johanna got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids - her closest friends and sister. They had chosen two colours and different cuts for their bridesmaids outfits but it looked really cohesive and went together extremely well.
I went ahead to meet Jan in the church (walked ahead, in fact, as the church was around the corner) and was soon followed by Johanna and her dad, who also went by foot (and amongst the excitement, had forgotten Johannas bouquet at home - which no one noticed until after the ceremony).
The ceremony felt very intimate. They read out personal vows, and the atmosphere in the small church was very familiar and cosy.
For our couple photos, we walked along the river where Jan regularly kayaks. I loved this personal touch and felt the location really suited this very natural couple.
Their reception venue "Die Tanzschule am Park" was a beautiful old building, a former indoor horse riding arena with a lovely outside space, where the drinks reception was in full swing when we arrived.
The packed dance floor from the word go was a testament to their guests, many of whom I chatted with during dinner and while capturing some shots of the reception.
Thanks again Johanna & Jan for allowing me into your life... for letting me capture these happy memories... for being such wonderful people!
These are my highlights... hope you enjoy.
