Two weeks ago I had the great pleasure of photographing Cat and John's wedding at the stunning 29 Private Member's Club in Glasgow. This was a wedding I had been looking forward to for some time, and one of the main reasons is that you really couldn't meet two nicer people! Although I haven't spend much time with them, I can tell how much their personalities compliment each other - Cat is outgoing and excitable :) whereas John is calmness and her rock. My day started at the Fraser Suites in Glasgow's Merchant City where Cat and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make up done. Soon it was time to get a taxi across to 29, where Cat stepped into her lace dress in the swanky surroundings of the fourth floor apartment. The stylish lighting makes 29 a very interesting place to shoot for a wedding photographer, and I really enjoyed playing with the different effects when photographing Cat's dress and accessories!
Cat and John had a Humanist ceremony which included their own vows, which was a lovely touch. We then went outside bracing the freezing temperatures for their couple portraits - and I have to thank Cat again at this point for bearing with me! It was definitely worth it as the light was fantastic. Back inside, their guests were treated to speeches from Cat's Dad, John and his brother, the best man. He had also prepared a special surprise for Cat and John - he had composed a song which he performed just before the first dance!
I have seldom seen a dancefloor so packed and it was obvious everybody was up for having a good time. Cat and John, you really have struck an amazing balance with your wedding between stylish but at the same time heartwarming! I sincerely wish you all the very best for your future together, and I hope you enjoy this preview of your wedding photos.
